Residential Communities

Montgomery Walk

The planning and site design of residential communities must serve many masters. Initially, it is the developer, who must create a unique identity to distinguish “this” place from its many competitors, enticing new residents to relocate “here”. Next it is the new home owner, who will wish to distinguish his home from what is usually a conglomeration of many similar homes through a new landscape that must look “finished”.  Lastly, years later, it will be the next buyer, who will buy a home with a beautiful, maturing landscape that has helped to appreciate the value of the home and entire community. The role of the landscape architect is key at every stage of this process, providing the inspiration and design of a dynamic landscape that adds value at every stage of the community’s evolution.
